Now your Koru tier can take parental leave as well.
Now your Koru tier can take parental leave as well.
Welcoming a new addition to the family can change how often you travel. Designed for new parents, Parental Status Hold pauses your Koru tier status for up to 12 months. You can apply if you’re welcoming a new child through birth or adoption, or taking parental leave.
We move your end of tier date to the last day of the month, 12 months after the day we approve your application. So for example, if we approve it on 10 August, your membership will be on hold until 31 August next year.
While on Status Hold, all of your tier benefits remain available to use. If you earn enough Status Points while on hold, you can upgrade tiers. However, that will automatically end your Parental Status Hold period and start a new active year at that tier. You're welcome to apply for another Status Hold at that point if you are still eligible.
If you are Koru Gold, Koru Platinum or Koru Black, you can apply for Parental Status Hold if you're welcoming your child within the timings outlined below:
You can apply online. All you need to provide is at least one document (JPEG, JPG, PNG or PDF) that shows your name and that you're welcoming a child in to your family within the eligible dates. Such as:
We'll review your application and get back to you with a response within 10 business days.
When the hold ends, your tier status resumes as normal. You start a new tier year and receive all of your Koru Gold, Koru Platinum or Koru Black benefits for another 12 months.
Parental Status Hold and Koru terms and conditions apply.
